About Me

Rachel Svendsen is a poet and writer from Milford, PA where she lives with her husband and daughters. She is a stay-at-home mom slowly working towards her BA in English. Her short story, “Filling the Silence,” received an honorable mention in the 2019 Story Embers short story competition.

She is a voracious reader, enjoying many genres. Her love of reading began at ten years old when she first read Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre. Some of her favorite authors include: Neil Gaiman, C. S. Lewis, Bill Bryson, and P.G. Wodehouse.

She started writing poems and short stories in Middle School, as well as a few dramatic diary entries. She wrote two cheesy novellas in 6th grade (which have mysteriously disappeared). She is currently revising three completed novels and has five other manuscripts queued up behind them.

This blog is a mixture of books, poems, and reflections on her life and journey as a writer.

      1. Not at all! I hope you have fun filling it out 🙂 If you have the time, of course. I’m sure you’re quite busy with your novel. Congrats by the way! Hope everything works out.
