Sonnets for Advent: Tuesday week 4

Based on Matthew 1:18-25

A young virgin quietly waiting for
messiah to come save his chosen race
received word from Jehovah that she was
chosen to be the mother of the Christ.
Her betrothed, brokenhearted to find her
carrying a child not of him,
received a message also from the LORD
so he would know his bride a virgin still.
Isaiah said, “Behold a virgin womb
miraculously will conceive a son.
His name will be Immanuel, God with
us.” Jesus who will save us from our sins.
This is what came upon that midnight clear
