Sonnets for Advent: Monday week 1

Based on 1 Corinthians 1:3-9

Give thanks to God the Father for the grace
and peace He’s given us through Jesus Christ!
The wonders of His love seen in the gift
of His beloved Son permeates ev-
ery aspect of our lives like sweet incense.
We who have heard the gospel and believed
are now enriched by boundless spiritual gifts.
We are before Him guiltless now, forgiven
of our rebellious ways and delivered
from the wrath that we all had rightly earned.
And add to that, we know that while we wait
for Him to come to claim us and his throne
He guards us and sustains us till that day.
Press onward Church, for surely as He came
to live and die He’s coming back again!
