Sonnets for Advent: Tuesday week 2

based on Psalm 27:1-4

The LORD is my salvation and my light,
my place of safety and my helper through
the dark and twisted trials of this world.
The LORD is this to me! The Holy One
and maker of the universe, the vast,
majestic God has chosen me in love.
Because I know that this is truth I have
nothing to fear. What can man do to me?
The things I most desire lay secure
beyond the reach of rust or sinful stain.
So like the Magi I will let The Light
guide me unto His temple and His throne.
When this life ends I’ll join His dwelling place
where I’ll bask in the beauty of His face.
