One silent night in Bethlehem a Light
sent from the LORD was born in stable mean
and lowly. This Light that was the Light of men
has overcome the darkness by His word
of power. Word and Light. Map and lamp. Guide
unto my ever-stumbling, wandering feet.
This Word made flesh sent Spirit unto man
so they could write His message to us down.
The words of life recorded by the Word,
enlightening and enlivening me from dark-
ness unto the redeeming Light of Life.
My path to paradise has been illumined.
By grace of God, I swear this oath in Christ:
to keep His righteous rules all of my life.
