Sonnets for Advent: Wednesday week 3

Based on John 3:16-21

It was because God loved the world He gave
His Son to die so we could be redeemed.
He looked on us, condemned and rebel race,
and loved us still though we’d rejected Him.
So let the Light of God into your life
and let the Christ renew His work in you.
This master-craftsman lover left His home
and throne to seek and woo and die for you.
Don’t seek your satisfaction in what fades.
Don’t cling to beauty’s shadows in the dark.
A masterpiece lost in the dark brings joy
to none until illumined by the light.
God came and sought you with in the shape of Christ!
Please, turn from dark and be illumined with Light.
