Sonnets for Advent: Tuesday week 3

based on 1 John 1:4-7

When earth was dark and void before the dawn
of creation, there still was light, no sun
but Father, Spirit, Son. The source of true
uncreated light. There is no trace
of dark in God, so when the darkness crept
over His creation, corrupting it,
He sent the Light, a star to Bethlehem
that fools made wise will seek. True fellowship
is there with True Light, for sinners seeking
grace find common ground when kneeling on
a stable floor or prostrate at the cross.
Light changes dark, eradicates its power.
So if you let the dark win in your life,
don’t lie and say you’re walking in the Light.
