Sonnets for Advent: Monday week 3

based on 2 Corinthians 4:3-6

The truth that we see in the light is not
seen by all. The god of this world has
veiled their eyes with sin. Rebellion, dark-
ness, like a death shroud coils itself around
all those who are perishing without the
Light of Life that we proclaim. That is
why we call down Light on them even
when they mock us. We do it for them
to help them see and know the glory of
God in the face of Christ Jesus our LORD,
Son of Man born in Bethlehem stall.
So let this Light shine out into the dark
through us from Him who enlightened our hearts.
