Based on Luke 2:8-20
I’d just come back from town that very day
to buy provisions for our little band.
The looks and sneers reminded me what they
all think of me, how low and vile I am.
My dreams are lonely, dark and full of tears
when suddenly I wake up to heavenly lights.
The stars vanish behind angelic glow
and fear lays me flat, trembling in the dirt.
“Fear not,” he said. “Good news I bring to you.
A savior child, Christ, is born today!
Hurry and find him in a stable laid.”
A multitude sent us to him with song.
They said the sleeping babe brings peace on earth
even to me, a shepherd of small worth.
