Sonnets for Advent: Friday week 2

based on Ephesians 5:6-14

You must not be deceived by empty words,
The Word of Life has spoken truth to you.
The Sons of Disobedience will see
the wrath of God rain down on them, but we
who’ve looked to Christ are sheltered from the storm.
I beg you then, don’t let yourself be pulled
under by rebels’ darkening influence,
but walk in light as children of The Light
now that the dark in you is made light by
the righteous work of Christ. The same Word that
spoke light into the void will once again
expose all dark deeds with His holy light.
I charge you saints, don’t entertain what’s dark,
The Word of Life spoke light into your heart.
