“I am cold.”

“I am cold.”
“Let me warm you.”
And he slipped off his jacket

“I am tired.”
“Use my shoulder.”
And she fell comfortably to sleep

“I am sad.”
“Let me hold you.”
And she wept and was comforted

“I am frightened.”
“I’ll protect you.”
And he shielded her from their blows

“I am lost.”
“I am with you.”
And they wandered hand in hand

      1. Me too. I have an infection and have to get my teeth pulled and a bone graft. My cousin is going to pay for it because they took my dental insurance away I found out today without telling me. I hate when they do stuff like that. Sorry. I get cranky when I hurt. We had to drive from 10-12:30 before we found a dentist that would work with me. 😦

      2. Pretty good but horrendously busy. I’ve been working on a rough draft for my third novel among all the other daily running around. My husband is a teacher and I can’t wait for his summer break to come so things can slow down a bit.

      3. Nothing of mine is published yet. This is all new to me. I’m going to keep updates here and post links if I have to self publish. We’ll see what happens.

  1. A lovely poem 🙂
The ending made me think of a Tolkien quote: “Not all those who wander are lost.”
It is okay to wander alone and without purpose or direction. However, as you rightly put it, wandering “hand in hand” with a loved one is infinitely better.
